"For the great enemy of truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived, and dishonest -- but the myth -- persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the cliches of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."~ John F. Kennedy
I want to base part of our show today on this idea. I want to go over this material which I will later post on the blog page for your viewing.
This very week I was reminded of this when a practitioner made this comment to me. "Look, when the uterus is gone, women do not need progesterone... It’s like this. Progesterone is produced by the corpus leuteum during and post ovulation, and when ovulation stops, progesterone production stops, and is then not needed. "
I want to talk about effects of progesterone today and discuss the heath benefits.

AUSTIN - TEXAS ATTORNEY GENERAL. On July 6,2010 the U.S. Coast Guard confirmed that tar balls from BP's Deepwater Horizon were located on Texas shores. While we do not yet know--and cannot yet calculate--the ultimate damage this ecological and economic disaster will inflict upon the state of Texas, we do know that BP will be held fully financially accountable for the costs incurred by the taxpayers when state and local governments engage in clean-up and response efforts. Equally important, BP will also be held responsible for the economic harm suffered by coastal businesses, fisherman, landowners, individuals and communities as a result of the Deepwater Horizon spill.
Over the last few weeks, the Office of the Attorney General has participated in an ongoing series of meetings and conference calls with BP, Gulf State attorneys general, the U.S. Department of Justice and relevant Texas state government agencies to prepare for the State's legal response in the event oil from the Deepwater Horizon reached our shores. BP has repeatedly assured us that they will fully compensate communities, businesses, individuals and governmental entities that incur costs because of this oil spill. To ensure that BP fulfills its promises, this morning I spoke with Jack Lynch, BP's General Counsel, to request that BP provide $25 million to fund Texas' response and clean-up efforts--just as it did for each of the other Gulf Coast states. That request was formalized in a letter sent to BP earlier today.

Whenever you receive a new prescription medication from a physician, you should ask these questions from the doctor or the pharmacist. If you educate yourself with this information, you will increase your opportunity for success with the new medication.
New Medication Form
Prescription name (trade name)
Generic name (chemical name)
What will the medicine do (for example, decrease blood pressure)?
Why do I need this medicine?
Are there any other medicine or treatment options?
How much does the medicine cost?
Is a generic form of the medicine available and appropriate for me?
Is there a similar medicine that will work almost as well and be less expensive?
Can I start with a prescription for a few days to make sure the medicine agrees with me?
How is the medicine taken (for example, orally [by mouth] or through a skin patch)?
What amount do I take each time (dose in mg)?
How often should it be taken (for example, 3 times a day)? When?
Questions about taking the medicine
Should I take it with or without food?
What should I avoid while taking it (for example, certain foods, activities, other medicines, or alcohol)?
Yes there can be interactions, (it is not ok to take it with these...)
No, (it is ok to take it with these)
If yes, what might occur?
What are the common side effects (those that do not usually cause problems)?
What side effects should I report if I experience them?
What do I do if I miss a dose?
How long will I need to take this medicine (days, weeks, months)?
How will I know that the medicine is helping?
What is the next step if this medicine doesn't work?
Will it interact with other medicines I am currently taking or other medical conditions?
